The Aran Islands
Aran Island
What an unbelievable day! We all ventured off to Aran Island. We had to take a ferry to the island from the main land. Once we arrived, we all rented bikes and split up into two groups. Some of us decided to take a horse and carriage around the island, and did some shopping at the authentic wool and sweater store in town. The rest of us biked to the cliff to see the beautiful views and take pictures. On the way we saw lots of animals like cows, horses, seals, and goats. There was magnificent scenery that we were able to witness. After a long trek to the mountain up and down hills, we arrived to the peak of the cliff. It was extremely high up, but the view was breathtaking. After taking pictures and enjoying the view some of us decided to head back to town and join the shoppers, while the rest of the group travelled to the blow-hole.
On the way to the blow-hole, the group stopped and took pictures with the waves crashing into the rocks…and some of us just happened to get soaked. The blow-hole was amazing because it looked like a naturally carved out swimming pool. After sight-seeing the groups met up and enjoyed some ice cream in the town. Both the ferry and bus ride home were relatively quiet because of the overwhelmingly exciting and exhausting day. It was an amazing experience to see and everyone loved it!
